Magicseaweed has joined the Surfline family. This means that not only will you have access to your favorite magicseaweed forecasting tech and team, but you'll also gain the features Surfline has pioneered over the past four decades.

Global surf forecasting firm Magic Seaweed (MSW) has announced it is losing its name as it merges with California-based Surfline. MSW, which was created in Kingsbridge, south Devon in 2002, was bought by Surfline in 2017.

I heard MSW is owned by Surfline, so they're basically the same thing, but MSW gives me a seven day forecast while Surfline gives me 2 day forecast without subscription. Sometimes their forecasts differ by 1-3 feet.

As of today, Magicseaweed — a surf forecasting platform cherished by many around the world — has passed on. Opening the App or visiting the website now pushes you to instead consult MSW's overlords at Surfline.

In March 2000, Surfline was acquired by surf website Swell.com.
